LT80 oversize piston choices?
#1
Took the kids to play at the dunes Monday. One of our LT80's started getting harder & harder to start. Close inspection revealed a tear where the intake boot meets the carb. The tear was on the bottom, out of view and made a great sand scoop :-) Bore is now at .020. From reading this forum it sounds like I should stay away from Wiseco. Does zuki sell over .020? I didn't find any. If Zuki doesn't, is there another Mfr who does?
Thanks
Yep, I'm gonna need a rod kit & crank bearings too:-( Sand is so much fun but it's so hard on my old body and my wallet :-)

Oooops, I see Suzuki does make a 1.0 oversize piston. I didn't scroll down far enough. :-) I'm still interested if there is another mfg besides Wiseco that go larger than 1.0 There's always a next time.

Not that I know of.
The weisco's need a lil more bore clearance and a more demanding break-in. They do work but Zuki pistons till 1.5 over.

Thanks for the info LT80. What kinda clearance with wiseco? .004? I ordered a Suzuki 1.0 over. When I find a Suzuki 1.5 I'll order that too. Kids don't understand down time during summer vacation :-)

NO Zuki 1.5
I obviously didn't explain that well.
At least .0035 clearance. .004 wouldn't hurt.
.0025 for Zuki pistons.
