About to buy a sportsman 500 efi x2. But on first try i was not happy. It was no speed in it and no heavy reaction when I hit the trottle. I belive it is blocked to fit our laws.
So my question is, what speed and kw/hk can I expect for this engine?
How are yours sportman 500 going.?

Mine seems very fast to me. I've attained a top speed of 65 mph on a gravel road, albeit with a tailwind. Prior to purchase, I rode both a 500 and an 800 and was well satisfied with the 500. Additional factors influencing my decision were the bullet proof reputation of the 500, along with the better fuel mileage. I am well satisfied with my 500 X2 Deluxe.

 

55mph put k and n filter now getting around 59

 

Hey Melk, I've got up to about 53-55mph at best. We don't have too many areas where we can open it up and keep it there. Our best chance is when the lakes freeze over in the winter. I'll maybe go up to Lake Winnipausakee in NH and open it up when it's frozen over. Maybe I'll get up to 60.

 

I have gotten my 2007 500 sportsman deluxe up to 60mph on a strait away top was about 65 coming down a hill.

 

Looks like this is the max speed. Got it 100km of the freeway with my girl back (same without the girl.)
