I have a 2003 Rincon with 4000 miles. When I am driving in 2nd or 3rd, get up to speed and then let off, the tranny tries to shift into 1st gear for a moment then goes back into the gear I was in. It will do it in auto and ESP modes. It is begining to do it more often and is very annoying. Any ideas on what may be causing it?

 

Does the bike not flash a code...?

 

Have you had the oil pressure test done?

 

There are no codes and I have not had an oil pressure done. I live in a remote area and the dealer I purchased from is 100 miles away. I was hoping for an easy fix so I didn't need to haul it to the dealer.

 

All dealers don't have the proper equipment to check the oil pressure ... It wouldn't hurt to check before you do drive 100 miles ...

 

I think there was a thread on rinconriders.com about what fittings and gauge is needed to avoid buying the expensive Honda tool...
