I am working on changing the boot on a 05 Sportsman. It is my brother in laws and he shredded the boot last weekend. Anyhow, I have everything apart and I can not get the outer CV JOint to come off the shaft? When I replaced mine a few months back, it just slid off just like the manual stated, but this thing will not come off. Any suggestions?

 

there might be a clip on the inside thats holding it on.

 

I got it. Tap it off with a rubber mallet my butt. 12 pound sledge and a cresent wrench finally popped it off.
