im looking into getting an 04 yfz 450 and was wondering..... do they have any first year problems i should know about?

I just picked up a 04 yfz450 and also would like to know. I've heard something about stator problems.

 

I have an 04 ............
The only problem I've had is the plug where the dirt bike de-comp device goes, it came lose. It was an easy fix with a Modquad plug............

The only serious thing (i've only read about it) is there is an oil mod that has to be done (when rebuilding). It sprays oil to the underside of the piston and helps oil the wrist pin and cool the underside of the piston.

My motor runs very strong and pulls very hard all the way thru the top......

 

are these problems fixed in 05?
