Info on Chinese UTs? anyone?

I've been seeing a lot of 150/250 utility ATVs like these:
http://www.vbike.us/index.php?...id=26&bs=&pz=&scid=42
http://www.motorxtremes.com/mm...ibutes=Yes&Quantity=1
There are many variations of these all over the net. I'm kinda intrigued by these things, but I'm concerned about a few things. They look like they sit really high, stability issue? The foot rest/pegs sit way up almost at the same level as the top of the wheels. It looks like your knees would be up near your chin!
I can't find a picture on the internet of anyone actually sitting on one.
Has anyone seen these first hand, or know where I can find some picks with someone on one?
Thanks

Just about every ATV 250cc and under is made in China (branded or not), the seat height should give you some idea, then you only need to compare to a branded similar model that may be on display in a showroom.

Motorxtremes has pictures of a guy sitting on their trailhammer 250. Most of the 250's seem to have the footpeg height at about the axle height. They're not really big machines but look comfortable enough.
good luck
God bless

Both of them are gonna have the same "chinese" problems, buy a few tube of lock tight and you should be good to go. Change the oil in them ASAP, change the plug ASAP, and if its water cooled dump the fluid and put in some 50/50 mix.
From the research I did with my chinese quads, I would steer clear of motoxtreme, nothing personal, but have read numerous BBB complaints on them, and some guy has a pretty nasty web page about them. I have personally spoken to the guys at Vbike and can say they sound nice and that sound like they would stand behind there product.
Not to promote anyone, but Jason at http://www.motorsportwholesalers.com did me right, and he will take care of you to make sure all is working right. All they have is the taotao stuff with loncin motors for the big stuff, and it appears the 110's may have lifan motors in them (had an inspection tag on one of my kids bike's)
Komoto/Hi-Bird seem to be rampent and parts are avail if need b, you can't go wrong there. Just remember, talk them down on the price, if they want a sale and a customer they will go a bit lower for you.

Don't buy from V-bike. We just bought a 250 from them and it has been nothing but trouble. The bolts have fallen out, the muffler has fallen off because the bracket melted. Peices keep falling off and we keep fixing the parts in order to let our kids ride. The tires are alluminum and bend very easily. We called to find out what kind of tires we could place on it and the v-bike company did not know what the deminisions were. We have had nothing but problems and I would not recommend buying one to anyone!!!!!!

here's just a couple of things , all 150 automatics use the same engine, it a honda clone GY6 motor scooter engine, 9.8HP, very relible engine, with lots of perforamce items available, top speed in not 40 mph as they claimed, it's more around the 31-32 mph and at that speed my kazuma dingo was dangerous, hard to control, with lots of handle bar shake. the 250 liquid cool automatics are also cloned honda CN250's, a few performance parts are available fo them, they have 18hp with top speed around 35-36mph. the first mod needs to be done is changing the roller weights in the varitor, as stock no low end power, as far as bolts falling out and muffler coming off thats the owers fault for not properly torqueing and locktiteing, lock washing, and doubling nuting all fasteners. my concers would be frame breakage, front suspension breakage, broken shocks, these two engine do not climb hills well, in fact the 150 useless, the 250 a little better after the weights have been changed, but for trail riding on flat ground or fireroads they're fine, don't execpt to leave the trails. hi bird 200 off of e-bay with double a arms is $900 shipped, if you call them to order it they knock off another $50.00, with a single arm $800 shipped. hope this answers a couple of questions for ya, if not then i guess i wasted my time

I'm not sure what the top speeds of the 150's are, but fast enough to be fun and a little scary wide open. Our Hi-Bird 150 has no problem climbing hills though. The hill behind our house is about a 35 deg slope at least and goes up about 40-50' above ground level. It carries me up it just fine. I can see where it might struggle in sand but on a hard packed hill, it has no trouble.
