It's a smoother ride but I would'nt say much more powerful if it is at all.

I had a blaster with a pipe, filter and piston then I got my raptor 350 and the blaster felt a little faster but it was modded. It might be an upgrade but barely. Rides a little nicer but not a big upgrade. If he wants an upgrade then go for the 400EX.

I had a blaster with fmf pipes reeds and many other thing's and now i have a 350 rap and for me no comp to me the blaster was quick but did not like to climb that well with me on it with the few mods ive done to my rap i can climb 3 times the hill that i could have on the blaster plus the warrior is bigger overal + you can lug the rap/rap around more when ever i stalled on a hill on the blaster it was game over on the rap I can stop and take back off the power is much more fun for me than the blaster! The name blaster fits it well it will BLAST OFF fast with mods but thats just it you can only blast around ..its just to little for anyone of anysize.....so yes it would be an upgrade and scratch the 400 ex if you want a 400 get a z400 or a dvx or kfx much better...

I totally agree with 2Fast. I love to climb and that was exactly why I got rid of my blaster. No fun at all on even little hills. It was all or nothing. And I feel ya 2Fast, stalling out at the top of hills becomes frustrating.
