I am confused about all the articles on rev limiters most of them talk about reverse. I want to go forward through the mud. Not have to back out. I have a 2003 Kodiak and when I go forward through mud in 4 wheel drive (not locked) the rev limiter kicks on spitting and sputtering the engine. This is embarrassing for Yamaha always getting pulled out. How can I fix the rev limiter in 4 wheel drive forward?

 

Does it only do it while going thru mud, or anytime you are in 4x4? I don't know how it works for 03 Kodiak but my 05 only limits forward 4x4 when the diff is locked. I would check to make sure it is going into 4x4 correctly.
