Default My son wants to can his ATV for a Dirtbike

My son wants to get rid of his atv and buy a dirtbike. Any thoughts on this such as safty. He is 14 and rides a Polaris Phoenix 200.

Actually, there are quite of few people that will tell you a dirt bike is safer than a quad. Much lighter, and much less chance of it rolling over on him. It may fall on him, but again, less weight. Most accidents on a bike are from jumping and not just riding. Still possible to clip a tree while trail riding, just as on a quad.

The two wheel having to balance thing will make most be a little more careful than they would be on a quad.

I would say, it that's what he wants, then you might as well get it. Just make sure he has all the protective gear.

My kids rode dirt bikes 1st. And now they have one quad... Still have two PW80's and a KX65. They love riding all of them.
