the 05' 800 was the first yr and had heat melting issues. i wouldnt buy a 600 as its not much differn then the efi 500 in power. pretty much any 500 is still a great bike to own w/ little problems.

2005 (I believe) was the start of the latest generation of Sportsman styling.

Polaris currently has HUGE factory to dealer incentive pricing on all new 2007 models. Definitely worth checking out.

Yeah, I have to agree with Sheepdog. The incentives on the new remaining 2007's sounds great. I wish I had been able to wait a month longer before getting my stealth but it just wasn't in the cards. I think with the newer bikes, where you ride should determine what size you buy. I ride an 800 up in Hurley Wisconsin and it is just plain and simple to heavy when you get into the real deep thick stuff. I watch the 400's and 500's just buzz right thru the same mud holes that my bike sinks into. My son's Wolvy 450 is more capable in the muck than any of the real big bikes we ride with. You might want to take that into consideration. That coupled with the fact that the big bikes are not that much faster than a well set up 500. Good luck in making your decision.
