Clutch Case Rattling
#1
Hey guys,
I noticed a sound in sync with my idling, and if i slightly press on my
clutch cover, i guess the belt hits. Does this mean anything other than i need
to adjust the cover?

Is The belt case the plastic or metal , you can get the metal one now but either one you will have to remove it to check it out and see inside to find out what's wrong with it ; It might just need the clutch ajustment and cleaning the belt dust and clean it out good someone on the formum just may pop up with more info than i can give you ! A friend of mine had a polaris and one of my cousin had one but when they started having problem's with clutch's and belt they sold out and bought Honda and Yamaha's with manual tranny's with semi/auto clutch and geared tranny ! I bought a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS 4x4 with the Suzuki engine and it's the Suzuki Belt/Driven clutch and i really love it ! It's better than the manual / semi auto clutch for me anyway because i lost both leg's just below the knee's marth / 02 / 1975 trying the help a friend who ran out of gas another car driving over the speed limit crashed into the car we were trying to get it out of the road ; but that was in the past and this is the future and good luck to you and i hope you get it ready to ride Labor Day ! my trailblazer did the same thing and i just kinda pressed down on it to readjust the cover so it wasnt hitting and it worked. as long as its not hitting alot or theres some major sounds of it rubbing try that first. if not then pull cover off to check on whats going on. just a thought for ya.

Most of the time when it starts rattling or the belt starts hitting it the case is warped and needs replaced.

ok, all good things to try. Williebee im sorry to hear that, but its awesome that you still ride!
Any recommendations on a new belt? Hows that goodyear gator back?
Also, im somewhat interesting in a clutch kit... looking at the hsp agressive, or the hot seat ones.
I do mainly trail riding, mudding, hill climbing, so im not worried about top end, i want the low down.
Will these kits change my engage rpm much? or is that not what they do.. i kind of like the low rpm engage of
the stock clutch.. but if i could have more torque down there it would be worth it...
Im piping my scrambler soon... either FMF gnarly if I can get it cheap, or one of the trail pipes by the RCR/HPD/HSP... not looking to go to loud here, is there a decent silencer out there?
I figure a pipe and clutch ontop of my weisco overbore should produce some nice trail riding results.

Hey Dan if you want lowend power look into a Dynoport Pipe With stock weights,Dalton blk/orange or blk/white primary spring depending on how high of engagement you want,And either a HPD violet or Aaen blue secondary spring.Or find an Aaen Torquer pipe and their clutch kit Which should be green primary and blue secondary stock S55 weights or S58s.I have run both and they are good but my rathers go with the Dynoport.
