I am not sure but somebody in here knows this, I have heard several times the a CR500R and the XR650R are both triple digit bike, not by much but they can go over 100 mph, as far as stock quads the Raptor is king for speed but what about and old quadzilla, stock against stock could the old LT500R blow away the craptor or no, I realize the raptor would have the edge in handling but I mean a straight line blacktop race, I bet if the quadzilla had an LRD adj. pipe it could probably kill the raptor, I have beat LT500R's, raptor's, and mod banshee with my 453EX but on blacktop they would smoke me easily, I won beacuse of traction, I was running Realtors in loose dirt, awsome bite! Is a stock 250R faster than a stock 400EX also? Sorry for all the questions, just curious!

 

ill answer the only one i know id say more or less a new 250r if u would ever find one is about the small top speed 400ex in a drag race i guess that could every in a longer strip the 250r would kill it because the 250r has 32 hp or close to and the 400ex stock 29 hp with a 2 stroke powerband on a 250r ill say the longer the track the less chance the 400ex would have

i know that a piped cr500 can hit more than 100mph on pavement! my uncle passed me on his when i was doing 95 in my mustang and still gaining speed! personally i think going 100mph "ON" anything is scary as hell! Imagine hitting a deer doing 100 on a motorcycle! "In" something is a different story

 

When my 87 250R was stock I would drag race my buddy on his stock 99 400ex and it was REAL close. We were in grass and he got better traction off the line but I would catch him and just BARELY pull ahead when I clicked into sixth gear. I do weigh almost 80 pounds more than him so given equal weight the R would probably beat an EX although it isn't enough to matter on the track.

400EX's are awesome. If I didn't already have an R I would buy an EX tommorrow.
