Default 04 700 Sportsman won't move

I recently purchased an 04 700. I drove on the trailer took it home. Had a hard time getting into reverse, finally got it in. Drove in the shop. tried to put into neutral to move around and it would not go then tried really hard and managed to strip out the lever that atattches to the tranny. Replaced the damaged parts. NOW it still won't go into gear and the rear end is locked up also. But the funny thing is that it will still start in gear but wont move no matter how much gas I give it. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong?? Thanks for the help in advance.

Joe

try taking off the rods that connect the shifter to the tranny and see if it goes in and out of gear there. if goes into gear at the tranny the problem is at the shifter
( my quad did this when it sat for awhile, just rusted solid) spray some WD-40 on it and work it loose

I went inside the cover where the shift rod connects to the output splines. Its pretty simple in there and mine was rusted solid. Also some gears in there that could keep it from shifting. On the 02 700, 03 600 & 700, and 05s you had to step on the parking brake to shift into either park or high. So there is a linkage/spring from the brake pedal that goes up into the trans. Chek that out and open the input cover up.

If u go into trans be careful. lots of parts can fall out of place. ever worked on car trans? same idea. I recently had bearing inside trans blow up cause of something could never figure it out. also had chain inside of trans get so loose it cut into drain plug. if I would not have changed fluid could have been bad internally. if u go into trans there are shift forks that can get bent or stuck. rear end locked up is strange though, sorry to ask but theres fluid in rear diff?
Also check bolts that hold rotor on rear tires they can get loose and hit caliper and stop tires. I had it happen at speed threw quad sideways and slid to halt something fierce. sorry could be few things. just some ideas
