FOG,
I fumbled over this whole Polaris mirror installation thing. It appears
that there is no mounts for the handle bar ends. So I mounted them to
my brake assembly, no issues, just needed a longer screw and plastic
bushing, it worked well on my 450.
Well I bought another mirror when I got my 800. On the end of the mirror
mount the screw goes thru the oval mount at the end there is a slant diagonal
(45 degree_ metal type bushing. In the hole of the handle bar put that end
in and tighten the screw, what happens is that that slanted bushing twists and
torques off becoming a like compression/tension NUT inside. Its kinda weird, but works
and tightens great. I looked at some 3rd party and I am happy with the Polaris
brand no need to know measurements, it fits all the Sportsmans, at least, hope this helps!

Hey Stendori,
Yea right now I just have it bolted to my brake
assembly, your RIGHT in catching me about the
winch rocket switch. YES, it is true, my lazy BUTT
hasn't put it on yet. YES, it means, ole R' as lazy
as he is will have to unscrew his new mounted mirror
to put on the rocket switch and yes I have the 3"
lag screw too, to fit thru it all, when ready to do that
job, running a 2 1'2 now.LOL.
Meanwhile my slick cousin discovers how this thing
has always mounted in the handle bar ends. I need
a PIC to show and will try to get it out none later
than first of next week (too busy weekend coming up).
After we installed it, its really secure, off course the
trail test is BEST, but I would feel secure enough
with it and actually doesn't look that bad.
Okay IMHO, I don't like the KOLPIN mirror in hand guard.
I feel you need more of a mirror to really get the benefit.
YES I will admit it before I bought the Polaris mirror, I tried
a REDNECK job with trying various stick on mirrors (from
Autozone) inside my Polaris hand guards, needless to say none of them really worked well and off course didn't hold up.

Yea, your right Sten, I looked at my PICs (Pic.11) and yea
you can see how that mount configuration works for those
who want to do it that way. I feel the same way STEN, I don't
know if I want to change my setup, although the handle bar
installation setup seems secure too, I'll see when I get it all together.
