Default Gas Leaking

I got old red about 95% built back up and she hasn't had gas in her for about 6 months and this happened before but when I fed gas to the inlet line of the carburetor the gas flows back out of the hole closest to the filter as if the bowl wasn't rising to cut off the fuel from flowing out when it is full. Last time this happened i took it back apart and made sure everything was functioning and then when it was put back together it worked fine. I forgot to mention the bike is on an incline i have the front lifted by a jack and the rear wheels are still on the ground could this be the case??

im gonna pull the carb off to make sure i did put everything back right, but this is the original carb and the bike has been sitting for 12 years so i think it may need a reb. kit.

It probably needs a new needle valve and float pin and set the float height. They tend to wear. Look for grooves in the needle valve. If you see any, repalce it.

sorry to answer myself but I have been carefully studying both manuals and the leak is coming from the center hole on the bottom of the carb where it hooks up to the air filter box or its called the" idle air passage" is this because I have it running to rich. Also now fuel is leaking out of the overflow line, I think this is all due to a carb being in serious need of an overhaul. Or maybe a simple float adjust and idle air screw adjust??

start w/ a new needle and seat if your in doubt about it. then make 100% sure its set correctly before doing any else.
