Rebuilt motor.
New read cage, Runs and idles great.
Will not rev past what seems to be half the rpm range.

Not sure if it is a timing issue or what?

Can someone give me any ideas from Experience??????????

my sp400 did the same thing, i checked the filters (air and fuel) cleaned out the carb completly still doin the same, the some one told me that there is a problem with the exhaust lobe on the cam wearing out. it will run good one minute the run crappy the next. it is worth checking out

did you buy this rebuilt or do it youself? Just wondering what was the same before rebuild. I have the same motor in my 99 scrambler but have not rebuilt it yet. I dont know how you would screw up timing, did you rebuilt the bottom too? Could it hopefully be something simple like bad gas? Mine would bog terrible off idle when warm and I thought I might need a rebuild, but luckily it was just dirt after I cleaned out the carb. Let me know what it is when you find out. Stuff like this can help us all. Frank. Sorry I dont have the experience of what you are having , good luck.
