Default Belt Slapping- 325 Magnum 4X4

I recently had to change the starter on my 2001 325 Magnum 4X4, and now i periodically hear loud slapping inside the belt cover. I had the bolts out of the housing when i was changing the starter, but never took the housing off. I also had the vent hose loose and put new clamps on. The noise seems to happen after i've riden it a mile or two and it heats up. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

some times the belt covers loose their form after they've been messed w/ on the older covers. sometimes if you loosen theem back up and push down on the top/bottom of the cover and retighten it will stp rubbing. just a thought.

If you can try to make sure your outer cover is seated right on your inner guard. If it is , it may also be that you have wear in your clutch/es. I wore a hole through mine but I was able to plastic weld it! My cover had dished in the center where the ebs sticker was so I figured at one time it must have gotten hot or struck. the head of the drive clutch bolt did the damage to the cover. Also your belt could be stretched or starting to break down.
