400 ex clutch problem ?
#2
Two possiblities: one, the cable is dry and crudded up, get a cable luber and shoot it full of a good cable lube, two,the former owner rebuilt the clutch and put in heavy duty springs. I picked up a 2000 440 ex, clutch was stiff as a board, lubed the cable good, got a lot better, it had the heavy springs in, and since the parking brake was blocked off, I removed the stock lever and switch, and put in an EZ pull lever, made a world of difference. Try one or both of these, or if you want to pull the side cover, if it has heavy springs, you can remove half of them, and alternate stock and heavy springs around the housing, this will give you more bite, and not be as hard to pull.
