200 ex vs 300 ex axle
There was a 250X which came out in 87, but there never was a 250EX back then (much less a 200EX).
If it is the 250X (kick starter, right?), it is probably interchangeable. In 93, they upped the displacement and added electric start, and called it the 300EX.

200 ex vs 300 ex axle
As reconranger explained, there was not a 200EX. The only two machines that I believe you could be actually referring to would be the 250X or 200SX. BUT, there was not a 250X offered in the states in 1989 or 1990 so you may want to take another look at the axle donor bike and verify the model and year.
The 250X axle regardless of year model is exactly the same axle as the 300EX but the 200SX axle will not interchange.
