i have a406 vitto kit with4 mm crank 5 mm hot rods bored 80 over cool head dual carbs with dual k and n fliter with outerwear and full toomey pipes all around
i see they have stages of jet lit what do i need satge 1 or 2 or 3

yea stock cabs yea i take that meaning stock carbs is that what u meant if so yes there stock carbs with 280 main jet after market reeds
what happened is one piston melted away rings stuck now people been telling me i have a air leak or to lean i am saying way to lean so i was going get a bigger jet kit to gas it up soem more

domes on the cool head are one step away from running race gas and i dont want to use race gas

ad plate... stay away from the key,they shear off sometimes.whats your compression ? whats your sea level. im in north east texas , when i had stock carbs i had 320's ,my buddy runns 370.stock cyln and crank.........

i didnt check copression this is the frist time i had the bike aprt
and ad plate on plus 4 is that the plate inbetween the reeds wich i dont have but will get if it helps

first thing you need to do is a compression test both cylinders so you are sure your not at risk of detonation. You can get a compression tester at any auto parts store for 20-80 bucks. Use the 14mm adaptor hold in the throttle and kick untill the guage stops climbing. Advancing your timing is good for more lowend but it will also raise compression so do a comp test after you do that mod as well. If you think your bike is running lean (I live in Pittsburgh PA and I ride in Harrisville I am 1800 ft above sea level so your probably pretty close to where I am as far as elevation) start out with 320 mains 25 piolets needel 3rd clip and do a plug chop. http://www.bansheehq.com/index...k=view&id=13&Itemid=28
This will tell you exactly where you need to be on your mains and T5s like 25 piolets sometimes you need bigger piolet jets but youde be able to tell with how the bike preforms from quarter to half throttle.
To check for air leaks around your carb boots start the bike and spray carb cleaner all around the reeds/intakes and around your head. If the bike starts to rev after you spray the carb cleaner you have an air leak and need to replace your Intakes or boots. Also make sure each bolt (There are 10 total torque in the numbered pattern) your coolhead is torqued down to 20ft lbs.
