Default 2005 Scrambler 500 4x4 Dealer Problems

We took our Scrambler into the dealer for rear end bearings and it turned into we need a new motor. They said it only had 5 psi compression in the motor and we gave them the ok to find out why and now they say we need the whole top end rebuilt because it has bent valves. Would it run if it did? we drove it off the trailer there and the weekend before i was riding it with no trouble are they trying to screw me? the reason they checked the motor is because they said they were having trouble starting it.

You ready to ride yet? I want my wrenches back! Back to topic, I do not think any motor can run with 5 psi and the 500 Fugi motor Polaris used are not known for trouble. Do a Search and you will find carb or EFI trouble but seldom the engine itself.

what year is it? I dont think bent valves would move too easy.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

If you rode it off the trailer you had more than 5 psi comp.If it isnt tore down yet I would take it to another dealer or look at in myself. The only way a valve will get bent is if it hits the piston and in that case you have busted a cam chain.Your dealer sounds fishy
