Default 400 sportsman steering bushing?

Just wondering how hard it is to change the lower steering bushing? Also wondering where to get it. The bike is a 96 400 sportsman.

if you don't find one, I might have a used one, I do think it will be a huge pain to change though.... seems like everything on those machins was a pain to change,

That bushing is what makes the steering column not move up and down? I can pull up on the steering and put it down to here a clunk And i can here the clunk going over bumps.

I just did this on my 2000 Sportsman 500. I purchased HotSeat Performance's upper and lower steering column post supports. The old lower bushing support was installed with rivets and both had to be grinded off, that was the most time consuming of the process. (Not a difficult fix) You may want to try pulling the cotter pin and tightening the castle nut first too see if it helps, with mine it helped a bit, but I still replaced them. Now I just need to do the tie-rod ends. :-O
