tranny problem??
I have an 03 Sportsman 500 with a little over 2000 mileson it. The transmission is very difficult to shift lately, sometimes getting stuck in reverse. I checked the fluid, it never been changed and readsjust above the safe level. Removed the rods and attempted to shift manually to no avail. The shifter is in good shape, moves frrely when unattached. Whats the fix? Is it the forks inside the tranny and if so how difficult is it to repair? the local dealer here is inept and incompetent. I'm in the Northern Virginia area, anyone round here do this for a living? Do I pull the tranny out and deliver it? Should this be handled by a professional? Purchase a new tranny? Buy a new four wheeler?
