Default '98 sportsman clutch cover noise?

I own a 1998 sportman 500. I purchased it last year. When I start the machine and it is cold I hear a rattle, or vibration from the clutch cover area. When the motor warms up the noise goes away. Does anyone know why this noise is happening. Or how I can fix it. I think it has something to do with the clutch cover, but the noise goes away once the motor is warm.

No I haven't pulled the cover off...I'll probably wait until the spring...however i did a little resarch and found out that it is a common noise with the older clutch covers...I also learned that the replacement covers are built a little bit bigger, therefore minimizing the chance of the problem reoccuring...Caper, I would suggest replacing the cover with a newer cover and hopefully this will remedy your friends problem...Thanks for your response..Let me know if you find out any new info...
