I changed the angle sensor without resolving shifting problem. It won't go into reverse. I can shift it manually and it shift good on forward gears.

I have no error code. The neutral lignt doesn't flash. Is the ECU does control only the angle sensor or does it control something else like the speed sensor and some more sensors? I have tested the old and new angle sensor with my ohmmeter and both have the same reading.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Luc

Hi Crutch,

Indeed, my problem is resolved. If you have no error code, it most probably means that you have a broken wire under you engine not to far from the drive shaft. This wire is connected to a switch. It could also be a faulty switch and you just need to ground the wire to verify if you can go into reverse. After those verifications, you should be ok. If not, tell me if the neutral light flashes when you turn the ignition on.

Luc,

Is it under the engine so the skid plate has to be removed to find it?
Thanks,

Crutch

you should be able to see it without removing the skid plate, it is located at the rear end of the engine side at the bottom.

Crutch,

Is your 2007 is a 420 Rancher? Mine is a 350 and no longer available in 2007. It has been replaced by the 420 model. So it means that my explanation is not correct for your bike.

Sorry, Luc

Luc,
Yes, 420 Rancher ES.
I saw a previous posting about the switch with a picture and mine doesn't look like that.

I'll still look at it closer.

thanks,
Crutch

Good news,
I started shifting it manually with the wrench and then the reverse
started to work again!

Let you know if it happens again.

Back to the mud!
