2002 Yamaha Big Bear noises

Whenever i switch into 4wd, i get this grinding noise up in front... almost like 2 plastic gears meshed really tight....thats the only way i can descibe it..
any ideas

I'd take the front differential and drive shaft out and inspect them for wear, replace any worn parts, then grease the crap out of it and put it back together.
