The mchine will not stay in high gear and drive forward unless you hold the shifter in - seems to be ok in reverse = we were told it needed a new shifter - we have repleced this and it still doesn't work.

Any Ideas??

 

have you tried adjusting the linkages from the shifter to the tranny, make sure you have the shifter in neutral when you do it, just need to take the slack out of the linkages

 

unless soemthing in the tranny like shifting fork got bent?
