Honda 200M gear oil?

Have you ever looked at http://www.3wheelerworld.com/y...200mpicturepage1.shtml

Yes, I have. I've looked all over it, and I don't see where it says anything about what kind of gear oil I need for my 200M and how much. Thanks for the reply, but does anybody else have some information that might help.

From what little info I could find on this subject, I beleive there is no gear or transmission oil used. I'm guessing everything gets lubed by the engine oil. I was confused when I removed the cover containing the stator housing (what the recoil starter is mounted on), and a small amount of oil came out. I'm guessing it was just engine oil that could not flow out by gravity. If I've come to the wrong conclusion, please let me know.

on the right side of your motor there is like a plastic or rubber screw thats where you put your oil and the oil pump pumps the oil threw the hole motor i always bye 10w 40 for my 185s and i put just a litile more than half in it and she runs like a champ

Yeah, I understand now that it uses just motor oil to lube everything. I'm getting a leak from the recoil starter. If I understand correctly, there should'nt be any oil going to the stator housing and recoil starter. I'm assuming I need to replace the big round seal that the flywheel goes into. Sorry, but is it called the flywheel? (the part the recoil starter turns) Anyway, what is that seal called? Thanks

ill let you know i have never had to replace it and yeah it is called a flywheel

Thanks for the reply. I went to the local Honda parts place and ordered one, they listed it as just an oil seal. I'm thinking it should take care of the leak problem. I don't see any other route for the oil to take to get to the recoil starter. Other than the replacement of the front fork assembly (front wheel alignment is way off), I should be pretty much done with getting her into riding shape.
