Vbike 250-V4s

I finally changed the oil and loctited all the bolts I could get at and started her up. Everything was great but I noticed the gear indicator would not light. I lifted up the cover removed the electrical tape and found one not attached wire. The problem is that I don't think that it is suppose to connect to the display. So I taped it back up and followed the wires down to the quck disconnect. I unplugged it and then plugged it in again . Still nothing. Any Vbike owners have any ideas? I think I'll call Tim tommorro. I have yet to ride her but this weekend it is suppose to get up to 25F. I can't believe how worthless the shipping oil was. I'm glad I only started it up 2-3 times for a short while!! The bike seemed to idle well after just a short warmup.

Check ALL connections on the bike, not just for the gear indicator. Many of the prongs in the femal sockets were bent on mine. After I straightened them out I had no problems.
Also take the time and check all connections up front for a couple of my wires were conected to the wrong place.
Don't give up, you'll get it.

rjdad,
I have only needed one part from Tim for my wifes first bike wich was a brake light switch and received it very promptly.
Maybe some others will chime in but I think most of us are new bike owners.Have you called him to descuss your concern ?

Is Tim the only distributor for Vbikes? I live in Austin, Texas and was wondering if I could visit a shop near Austin.

So I talked to Tim and he suggested I send the gearshift light back to him so that is what I'm going to do. I also have been looking for some matching touch up paint and I found some close but not exact. During shipping the front arms got scratched.
How fast should the idle be on this bike? It idles great but seems fast. Also where is the adjustment screw for the carb? I know little about adjusting these so any help would be great. I took her for a ride and had some fun in the snow. Deep snow needs more then 2 wheel drive but it was still fun. I also am using a Harbor Freight battery tender which I got at the store for 5 bucks in the off season. It works great as long as you don't reverse the pos and neg. ( I'm not admitting that that happened). Fortunately I bought like 5 of them so no big deal.
