Vbike 150

I've been reading a lot here for a while and was going thru the common "used Jap vs. new chinese" problem.A local dealer had new 4wd automatic Suzuki Eigers (2007) on sale for $3999. It was a budget buster, but I couldn't pass it up.It's a wet winters end here in Pittsburgh so it currently has 13 miles of putting thru my yard on it.My ten and twelve-year-old gransons were doing backflips over it.Grandma agreed to postpone the divorce talk.
Just from riding in the yard (3 acres) it was obvious that you can't have any fun with a quad. You need two.I was already in deep poopoo and over budget so a chinese bike was the ONLY option. After reading here till I fell asleep for about a dozen times, I got a vbike. And a trailer. The divorce talk is back.
The vbike arrived really fast.3 days from order from Oklahoma to Pittsburgh.Everything that I've read here was right-on.Everything needs tightened. No clamps on the fuel lines. The battery was junk from the get-go.But all-in all, it seems to be a fairly nice machine (from what you can tell with about 5 miles on it). It fired right up after the battery change and only required a little carb adjustment and purrs like a kitten.
I'm linking to some pics that are the various stages of the vbike arrivals and assembly, and some side-by-side with the Eiger for those of you that need a size comparison.I knoe a lot of this post is repeated stuff, but when you looking at these, you need all the help that you can get.

Welcome to the forum mak104. Nice pics of the ATVs. I also own the 150 from Vbike for my wife and daughter. So far we really like it.
Just a little info on it that I have found:
1) The ATV is manufactured by TaoTao TaoTao
2) The engine is a Honda GY6 clone that is used in many different applications like the ATV and buggies. I had a link to a service manual on the engine but now it appears the link isn't working. Check out Buggy Depot, lots of interesting info and parts for the engine. Buggy Depot
3) I had to adjust the linkage rod from the shifter to the tranny lever. Sometimes when I would put it in reverse and then give it throttle it would clunk into gear. It turned out to be just a minor adjustment on the linkage.
Let us know how it performs for you.

After having it for a while I'm pretty satisfied. The rear axle had no grease and started to wear, so grease anything that you can think of.It'll throw the chain pretty easily too. We ride it on a rough trail (no mud) and it is holding up well.

Hi mak104, glad to hear you are enjoying the ATV. I have read here somwhere on the forum that the rear chain will come off easier when the rear swing arm bushings are worn out. The rubber bushings they put in there are not so good. A couple of guys have replaced the bushings with either brass or plastic type bushings.
So far our 150 has been great and is holding up well also. The swing arm on ours needs new bushings but havn't had the chain come off yet, of course I always adjust my chains if needed before riding so that has helped.
