I need some help with a 06 500 ho .. as soon as you start it, it imediatly says its hot and the fan will not shut off even after you turn it off i will run forever...
I did some reading and it appears there was a ecu's that go bad is there a way to verify this so i dont go out and buy a part thats not bad..

I know there is a temp sensor on the engine is there one on the radiator i could not see one.

does anyone know what the oems are supose to be for the temp sensor so i can go buy a resistor to bypass it to make sure that is not the problem....

or if there is a data base that i could plug the numbers in and see if there is a recall for it...

first thing its not the ecu, its the ecm that is bad. they had a recall on some of them for that year so take the vin number of the bike to the dealer and he can check on it for you. im betting that is whats wrong w/it like a few others have had for issues.

 

why would this have a ecm it does not have fuel injection what not are you refering to the cdi? i had the dealer run the vin and they claim they have never heard of the problem.but i would hate to buy a couple hundred dollar part for it not to be the problem thanks Brindley

 

It is I am on my third one for my Sp 450 (2006) and my is not EFI..........They control all the stuff you listed.............My fan was running without the key even in the quad..............And the first one the motor would shut off when the headlights were turned on!!!........99.9% sure ...That's good odds!!!!!!!..Caper........

the emc(electronic modual control) not the cdi or the ecu is what controls voltage from the stator w/ along w/ dozens of other functions as caper as said. if the dealer hasnt heard of the recall on certain year and models then he must not have had that many sold as their have been a few out there. imo i think its what it is but couldnt tell you 100 %.

 

search "surefire"module on here. I think thats what Polaris calls the part now.
