Starts/Idles Great but Cuts out on Accelleration
#1
Got my 97 Warrior back together (2001 motor). Went riding for a couple of hours today. It ran great.
Later this afternoon after it cooled off we decided to go for another ride. It started right up and idled fine. I gave it some gas and all it would do is bog down and backfire (yes it was out of gear and in neutral). I let it continue to idle for about 5 minutes with no change. It's like it jumped timing or something. Like I said it was running great when I parked it and 3 hours later it's a different machine.
Any ideas?

Clip the electric wire that goes into the clutch lever.see if that makes a difference. If it will not start after you clip it then twist the two wires back together and try it again.

Thanks for the tips, y'all. I'll be giving that a shot this afternoon. This is my first quad and it's tips like those that I didn't find anywhere else. It makes sense since the parking brake lever was tight and I was "working it" to loosen it up after I last parked it. I bought the wrecked Warrior a month ago and have spent all this time fixing and rebuilding it after completely tearing it down. I hope this will be the last hoop I have to jump through for a while. Thanks again.
