Default reverse on rincon

I just ordered a new display for my 2004 rincon hasnt came in yet but im having a problem getting the thing in reverse. If I unplug the brown/red harness on the top of the motor it goes in to reverse perfect but wont shift out of first gear. Does anyone have any idea if this is being caused by the whole head unit being out.

Default reverse on rincon

You'll have to explane your problem in a bit more detail .. That bike has a manual reverse , gearshift & cable assy there is nothing electrical ..

Default reverse on rincon

it is an automatic or esp but when you pull back on the shifter from neutral to rev.. it rolls slowly but will not fully engage into reverse when you pick up the rear tires and hit the accelerator the tires pull it just wont pull under a load. Another wierd thing is when you unhook the wire harness on the top of the motor it goes in to reverse just fine almost took out my wife..but when the harness is loose and in auto it wont shift out of first gear....i thought since none of the controls such as the gps, speedometer, or any thing else works due to the circuit boad on the display being cracked it might be causing the problem
