Oil pressure Test
#1
I went to my local Honda dealership and was looking to get m oil pressure tested b/c my Rubicon isn't shifting. however, the few dealerships that I called say that it would take at minimum an hour, which cost between 60 to 65 bucks an hour. However, I can get a new pump for around 130.
So I was wondering if you can and if its been done: testing you own oil pressure. I know I need a special fitting to screw into the appropriate hole; however, I'm pretty sure its metric and I'm not sure where to find that part if I can even buy it.
Any feedback help!!
Thanks

Yes you can check the oil pressure yourself .. If you have/have access to the right equpiment .. I have both the Honda gauge & fitting and a Fluke set-up .. The Fluke set-up is quite expensive , mine is a Fluke model 88 automotive (for the tach) .. Fluke model 863 graph meter & Fluke PV500 (for oil pressure) ...
The fitting is 10x1.25mm
As far as checking the oil pressure on a Rubicon , it takes approx. 3-5 minutes (if the bike is already warmed up) ..
