I am trying to understand which numbers designate the year of the ATV in the VIN for a Honda Rancher 350 4X4.

Also what was the first year Honda came out with the electronic shifting?

ES showed up on the Foreman 450 (as I recall), a year or so before the Rancher entered the market (???).

 

The guy I got it from said that he thought it was older than 2000 but I was thinking the rancher ES 4X4 didn't come out until around that year.

 

go to the front of the machine and look for a sticker on the frame it should be on the left side of the machine

 

The first electric shift in the TRX450 Foreman was 1998 .. First electric shift on the TRX350 Rancher was 2000 ...

 

 

Thanks everyone. I found the VIN and the sticker on the front. Other machines I have, have the VIN on the frame rail in front of the engine. I was looking in the wrong place.

Now I need some new parts like a fan. What other years will fit a 2002 rancher 350ES?
