ok instead of tht 350 raptor everyone talked me into getting a 450.. bc im mostly worried about outrunning my friends cr 125.. which runs about 82 mph.. and the 450 runs 79 stock.. so now i finallly have a chance with sum good mods right??.. wht do u think i should do to it to get more top speed out of it .. bc i allready have enough engine for torque??

 

i think both of the top speeds are lower than that but you will beable to keep up with him.

 

no.. i have the dirt wheels mag tht compares all 450's and the yamaha is the fastest stock which tops at at 79.. and my friends cr with his pipe and all his mods tops out around tht member its a bike they go much faster

 

I have also seen a mag that claimed the YFZ/450R could only muster high 50's before! If you want a quad and want to hang with the bikes, then a 450 is the only way to go. You may beat him in a drag, may not. How many trails in your area that you can hit even 50mph on? Most of the time when I trailride I am lucky to get out of 3rd on the YFZ...

 

good luck getting to that speed...i have a raptor 700 with mods (pipe, k&n intake, power commander, x2 cam) and only hits 76. im not saying it cant be done i just have never seen anyone hit that kind of speed on a stock 450. maybe with the wind blowing mad in your back and be a pro rider you might beable to hit 79

 

I own both a bike and a quad. I don't know what kind of terrain you're planning on riding, but I think it's more or less a pipe dream to believe that a quad is going to be able to keep up with a bike at anything other than flat and straight territory. This is assuming both individuals have comparable competency levels at riding...

 

^^^^^ya if there racing there is no way but it wont be such a big difference that the guy on the dirtbike will gettting pissed off and having to slow down alot.

Dude, you need to think why are you buying this thing. Is it to have fun or just prove you can be faster. I've ridden with a lot of people and nobody likes riding with the guy who has to be the fastest. They are always the ones trying to prove something and gets hurt or gets everyone kicked out of the riding spot.

 

Yeah Man, Bikes are just a different classes of riding or racing. If you're wanting to whip up on a bike, buy you a bore kit motor that comes with the carbs off of Ebay or something. That's what I did. Once You get to that point though it's just wrong to talk stuff to anyone around You cause you know your faster. There aren't many I've raced that can hang and I'm just a 03 raptor 686 with a couple secrets.

One other option is to get heavy into drag racing and buy ya a Drag bike. Some with a street bike motor in it. Now that's stupid fun. You don't want to hit over 100 mph. Believe me. 100 is fast enough.
