renegade 800 belt slippin?
#1
Just took my new gade 800 out...i managed to get my self into some some mud/water, nothing too hairy but noticed that the belt started slippin...luckily i just so happen to be at a can-am event and was told that the belt got wet, any easy fix solutions for this.........

Yeah me neitherbut I hit six in. of water and got belt slip alot,Imade a stealth snorkle and routed it under the gauge pod, also there is a seal upgrade on 07 cvt which is coverd by the dealer.I have an 08,and do alot of woods riding, but like to play in some deep puddles every so often.Iused 1.5 pool hose and some rubber reducers from home depot with a little heat tape.yopu cant even tell its there.works great.........

lookin i see kow when and where i got the water in...i dont believe it was the caseing i think it came through the intake hose...ur sayin u can extend that to make it higher but not come through the plastic and it will not hurt anything...

Yeah that was my problem too. seems to be forced in during higher speeds,I also have a 02 scrambler, its been snorkeled the same way for 5 years and no probs at all.with the rene went flyin thru a creek at higher speeds,no water. it was about 2ft deep, did it quite a few more times and it was dry as a bone.rode a day in no water and had no over heat issues on the cvt.its good for a backup.without it,i always got it wet and it was a pain havin to drain it..

Ijust took a sawsall cut the intake 90 so it was straight ,took a 2in to1.5 and with a hole saw,2 1/8 drilled a hole on left side of the box and went up from there.for the exhaust part of the cvt,I routed the hose under the black plastic on the shifter side tied it snug with some wire ties and snaked it up to the pod,as a precaution,Iwrapped hose with some heat tape, near the header in the rear.also I just removed the entire exhaust tube and used the same type of pluming reducer in the back and where the hoses connected,I used some silicone to seal it also.
