help bypass shifter switch

Default help bypass shifter switch

I have a 95 xplorer 400 and guess the shifter is wearing out have to push it hard forward to get awd to work and only works sometime i would like to bypass the switch

Default help bypass shifter switch

The easiest way is to open the hood (where the radiator cap is located) and on the wire panel - find the gray/white wire (power to AWD coils), unplug it and plug it into the terminals for the red/white wires (power when ignition switch is on)........

Each wire set on this panel has a terminal strip, and each "set" should have unused terminals.
This will also give you AWD in any gear without pushing the override button - the override button will still function for Reverse speed control...............

Default help bypass shifter switch

I forgot to mention that this "bypass" still works the AWD system thru the AWD switch - so you still have control of 2X4 and 4X4.
