Default odometer on 02 sportsman 500 not wrking

left key on overnight and now odometer does not register when i am driving.....and have not run quad enough to charge up battery yet. would a dead/low battery cause odometer to not work? funny thing is that when it is idling, the digital display works but goes out when throttled. hopefully it is all because of dead battery.........how long will i have to run the quad for the battery to charge back up??

thx a bunch

your better off to charge the battery w/ a reg. battery charger. the charging systems really only designed to maintain the charge and not fully charge the battery from when its dead. so it would take a while to recharge it.

glad to here it was an easy fix. these newer electronics need a good 12 volt charge to keep things going.
