Default Sportsman 400 strut bearing lubrication

The inner strut bearings/wheel bearing on a 97 Sportsman 400 or say the Sportsman 500's... are they lubricated with Demand Drive fluid? I'm assuming they are lubed through filling the hub. Just curious...

Lubed by the Demand drive hub fluid. That's why I filled one at 12 o'clock and let it soak in awhile, let the air bubbles work their way out, then turned to 3 or 4 o'clock and drained the excess out.May have wasted a little extra fluid this way,but was sure the back bearings had enough. Or you can drain the excess back into the bottle if it's fairly clean. I didn't because I had plenty of the stuff..

By the way, there is a spacer on the nut side of the cage, should this spacer be free moving? Everything was rusted and froze up from lack of grease...

Spacer that sits flush with the back of the roll cage should be able to turn inside the roll cage when oiled up. If it's corroded up just take some fine steel wool or emory cloth and polish it up a little along with the inside of the roll cage where it rides.Shouldn't take much to clean this up.Item #13.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
