Default 2006 x2 seat problem

Has anybody else had a problem with the x2 bottom pad of the rear seat i have had to replace mine two times in less that a year. It looks like it is weather chaped and starts flaking apart. My bikes are stored inside and are trailered inside so i dont thing it can be a weather problem. the dealer is not much help except wanting to sell a new seat. I think that this should be a recall or a warranty issue.

I just got the 08 700 X2 with the same seat. I did see that around the edges looks frayed a little. The seat looks like a hunk of fome with some kind of rubber coting. I'm sure I will find out soon as I live in Daytona FL and its already to hot to ride during the day and i'm sure the sun will kick the poop out of it if this one does the same

Maybe something like Armor-All would protect it.

I was thinking of coating it with Herculiner. I put it on my wooden boat seats and it has held up for years now. You can get it at most auto parts stores.

Mine isn't too bad right now. I'm probably going to hold off until it gets a little worse.
