Default Polaris Sportsman Rpm Range?

Welcome to the forum Amped. My '06 500 EFI always idles at close to 1150 so I assume it's normal to get that high. 900 rpm doesn't sound fast to me, but your manual should say.

first idling should be 1150 +,- rpm's . depending on which range your in and how much load is on the bike will make a differnce. i wouldnt say that it was not normal. you should be able to tell if the belt is slipping to make it rev up too high imo.
