Eton dxl90 Carb help needed
#1
Took my sons eton out after sitting for 8 months with old gas. Started right up and drove it 300 yards to have it bog and stall. couple days later same thing started cold and drove about 200 yards then bogs. I drained the fuel put in fresh and changed fuel filter. It will start and idle but any attempt to give it throttle just bogs and stalls the engine. I think I will need to pull the carb and clean the jets. I was hoping someone here may be able to tell me how to remove the jets and clean them. A diagram would be great. I remember finding a site before that helped me do this for another quad but can't for the life of me find that site again. Anyway it's a Mikuni carb and the throttle cable makes a 90 degree bend into the top of the carb. I doesn't have the circle type screw down top that the throttle cable enters the carb. It has an electric choke. It does have a fairly large brass idle speed screw that can be be turned with your fingers or a screw driver. Well I hope that is enough info. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I thought I should add the battery was quite weak. Could there be an electrical problem caused by weak battery.

Hey! I have an ETON Impulse TXL-50 and have been having problems with the carburetor (I think). But, being a complete novice at small engine repair, I'm curious to know how on earth do you get to the carburetor to get it out? Do you really have to take the entire front fender off? Handle bars off? Or, is there a better, more efficient way?

I'm not sure about the TXL-50 but for me it was quite simple loosen the clamp to the intake manifold and take the airfilter tube off. You can then tilt the carb and remove the throttle cable from the top of the carb and the electric choke if you have one, pull the gas and 2 cycle oil lines and your done. On my 90 it was less than a 10 minute job and did nothing but remove the seat to get at it. Again, I have no idea if your 50 is set up similar to my 90.
