99 yamaha warrior trouble running
#1
hi, i am new to this and i could really use a little help. i have a 99 yamaha warrior with little work done to it jus a couple mods exuast, and air box. this last year i flipped the quad over doing about 30-40 mph, but didnt do any outter damage. the battery terminals got loose, so i bought a new battery and charged it, installed it. the quad hasnt ran for about 8 months and i tryed turning it over today and it wouldnt start at first but with the throttle opened all the way it fired up, running real rough and making a popping noise out the exuast. the motor sounded ok at high rpm's but it wouldnt idle, and was too choppy to really ride around. also when i turn the gas on (under the gas tank) the top overflow line off the carburetor leaks the fuel out, so i was curious if this could be a carb problem. when the engine was running it wasnt leaking that i noticed but the quad acted and smelled like it was flooded. if anyone has any help at all please comment.
thanks,

You need to clean your carb. Letting it set up for 8 months with fuel in the carb has clogged up your jets. Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the fuel.

yep just drain fuel and use new fuel, and make sure to go over your carb real good with a carb cleaner sounds like your jets are a little clogged and your bowl is all gummed up

If gas is coming out of your overflow tube it sounds to me like your floats are out of adjustment or your seat on your floats has dirt in it or a gummy fuel residue from sitting and won't let your float valve needle reseat.
