Ok so im having some trouble with my big bear. I can take off down the street go through all the gears and all is good. As I start to slow down and come to a stop it will start to idle real high when the engine is not under a load. As soon as a put it back into gear it calms down. I can also park it in neutral and get it idle down with the idle adjustment on the carb. Another thing I have noticed is that fuel sometimes runs out of the tube that is connected to the bowl on the carb. I have checked the screw that the tube leads to and it is tight. Fuel only leaks out sometimes and not at any specific time. ANY IDEAS?

 

Check your carb float for proper operation. I believe its sticking on you. The float bowl itself may have trash in it blocking the vent tube, making the bike run weird.

 

check the air filter to make sure its not clogged. turn the idle screw down. when it is idling high and you put it in gear, does the ATV jerk really hard? that might be the problem. a weak throttle return spring would cause the same problem too.
