Default Vbike 250-V4D ATV problem

Hello All: I have a 250-V4D ATV that I bought from VbikeUSA last year. It has run perfectly up until yesterday. I turned it off to add gas, and it would not restart. Checked for spark - none. Pulled plug and tested on another engine - plug is fine. I suspect something is wrong with one of the ignition interlocks, e.g. kill switch, front brake switch, but I'm not sure. Although the owners manual has a wiring diagram, mine is about half destroyed (came that way), so I can't sort out what wires do what. Does anyone have any suggestions, or does anyone have a wiring diagram that they can send me? I would just as soon eliminate (defeat) the ignition interlocks - they're just a pain in the butt. Thanks.

Not sure if you know or not but its worth a shot; the kill switch on the left handle bar needs to be pushed straight in, in the center position to reset it if it had been moved to one side or the other knowingly or not.

I learned this one the hard way, I had no spark but it just turned out to be the kill switch not being reset. hope this helps.

Coloradotrailrider - thanks for the info. It turned out to be two problems. When it stopped running, I did fool with the kill switch and didn't remember that it had to be pushed in to reset. That was the cause of no spark at all. Once it was reset, I had spark, but it was jumping from the center electrode to the body of the plug, not to the other electrode. The plug has no markings whatsoever so I don't know what to replace it with. I took the plug from my Chinese 110 cc mini dirt bike, put it in the ATV, and the ATV starts and runs fine. I don't know however if this is actually the correct plug. Any idea on what the correct plug is, so I can buy a new one?

My Vbike V4S 250cc is almost identical to your 250cc engine. Mine came with an NGK sparkplug so I will check the part number on it tonight and let you know.

Glad to here that it was just the kill switch.

Thanks for plug ID - What do you use for plug gap?

Good question actually, I never checked the gap. I'll take a wild guess and say .020 - .025 should do the trick.
