So I was just at a county fair to watch the 4 wheeler mud bogs and there was a grizzley 660 there with a LOUD exhaust pipe on it. It was way way louder than the HMF utility series on my rubicon. Anybody have any idea what pipe he may of been running?

 

either the same pipe you had with the spark arrestor out or something, or i think Dr.D, supertapp, FMF makes pipes for them also, who knows what he had it being a mudbog...he prolly just had some custom fabbed straight pipe arched up to stay above the mud

 

I dont have the spark arrestor or quiet core in mine and that pipe he had was way louder than mine. He had some type of aftermarket muffler on there I saw the name riveted on the muffler when he went by I just couldnt tell what brand it was.

 

I Used to Build Engines and Modifyed Machines As well as Due Modifyied Work for Snowmachines , At the Time i was Licenced Small Engine Macanic .

The Pipes They have used , Some was "Thrush Mufflers , CherryBombs exc..

But alot of them was Custom made Stacks .

I still have a pair of modifyied hooker pipes here . And the pipes i had modifyied.

If this is what your after , loud pipes , but boosted horsepower , send me a picture of your bike , also measure the exhaust output and tell me that , what cc ? and ill help you make one.

mind you you will have to get the parts and get it weilded, but i can typ out and draw you the sizes of the chamber inside the pipe as well as the outside shape.

 

what did the pipe look like? was there a red square tag on it?

 

Yeah maybe I couldnt be for sure as there was mud on it as well. It was either red or blue I think.

I was always under the impression that the HMF utility series like I have was the loudest aftermarket muffler you could get for utility 4 wheelers but this was alout louder than mine.

 

well you gotta keep in mind he might of had other things done to it and airbox mod maybe, but if it was red id say it was a Big Gun or Dr. D both are loud as hell when you take spark arrestors out, maybe he even gutted the pipe out that will make anything loud, but if it was blue maybe a WB e-series or a FmF titanium 4 they have a bluish anodized can with a red tag and there loud as crap but the sound on those arent as deep toned as others ive heard

 

Doesn't matter what kind of pipe it was. If he was using it for mud bogging he had long since filled the silencer with water and mud, which rotted out the packing material. Thats why it was so loud, ... no more packing material inside the silencer. Just take your silencer off and run a straight pipe if thats what your after. You'll get the same effect.
