Default Polaris sportsman600 twin !

A friend of mine has a 2003 polaris sportsman600 it's been sputtering on and off for months it would sputter for a few seconds than run great all day it dose it about once a trip, now its lost all spark.

what all could be wrong ?

things done to it:
New plugs.
new wires.
ignition switch tested good.
kill switch tested good.

Sound like a bad coil pack to me !
But every dealer swears it's not the coil they say that they never go bad. . .
so what else could be causing this fine heap not to start ?

P.S. The Bluie Rubie is tired of towing this fine SportsWoman in LoL. . . tho tho this machine has drug me out of drink a few time this year. . .

I don't know if this will help but I had a simmalar issue on mine with the spark plu wires not making good contact with the plug itself after some reformation of the brass connector problem has not come back!

Yea ! thats what we thought it was so we checked them and rechecked them.
it currently has no spark at all nothing at the plugs nothing at the coil pack it's self we used one of them spark testers on it. . .

I have replaced about 4 Ducati coil packs on early Sportsmans. They just didnt hold up and were discontinued.

if it has a stator don't foget to check it some say to replace it with the regulator but the stator can be fixed so look carfully for a wire that has burnt into at what looks like connection terminals i've repaid them myself by soidering them back againt not sure your unit is using a stator but it sounds like coil or cdi or whatever is invole in the spark including fuses and regulator hopefully not the brain box good luck keep us posted please so that we learn with you.

Very unusual for stator to fail if it has ducati coil pack! BUT with electrical anything possible!
