Default questions about sportsman

when charing the battery do you guys charge using 6 or 12 volt from your charger?

I have some cracks in my front cargo box, I would like to seal them up, any ideas

and last, have you guys ever tried painting the plastics? I am having trouble finding a paint that will stick and not scratch of easily.

Thanks for any info

!2 volt system, 2 amp setting if charger equipped, have had some customer use hot glue on some small cracks, but on painting some other members can give you some of their recommendations. Krylon makes a plastic paint, dont know how good it is about holding up. You should get more responses. Good luck.

They sell in our autoparts stores here (Canada) a product called "Goop" I had a cracked clutch cover on a trail boss and I used that stuff to seal it. Works very well. Krylon paint has a patio furniture paint for plastic. Wallmart should have it. Not sure if it comes in black though.

I have used a 2 part mix called 40-40 to fix a crack on one of my old ATVs. I had to get it at an auto body / paint store. It was not cheep but once put on and set up (about 25 minutes) I was able to sand it down to make it blend in and it never broke after 2 years I had it.

That is what I am using now.

It is called camo, it is for outdoor hunting equipment. it still rubbed off in some spots. Maybe I will power spray the quad and then ruff it up with sand paper and try it again.

thanks for the help.

An hour after you're done charging the battery, check the voltage again. It should be between 12.8 and 13.0. If it's less than 12.8 volts it's not fully charged. This information is off the OEM battery instruction sheet.

JB Weld rough the plastic up where your putting it on too. As for paint I don't think anything really holds up well on plastic. I would read the cans recommendations and use whater primer they suggest. I still don't think your gonna get a durable finish but you never know until you try!
