Default polaris atv's overheating/loss of power

HELP!!; i have one 1990 polaris [img]i/expressions/brokenheart.gif[/img]250 and one 1996 250 trail boss; when i drive them for awhile up in the mountain they'll lose power and become hard to start....so if i wait for about half an hour to let em cool down then they'll start up with no problems......could anyone help and tell me whats going on and also is there any aftermarket oil cooler that can be bolted on to either of them.

Are they jetted properly for the altitude that you are running in the mountains? Is the Temp. light comming on? If it is happening to both of them I would think it is altitude related?
